Shares and units
Before a game graduates, it has shares. When it graduates, it also gets units. Shares never turn into units on their own.
Shares
- Pack shares come from card packs.
- Bought shares are bought with WINR (the WINR is burned), or are Pack shares after an upgrade.
- Both earn from the game's 20% weekly pool, split across all shares by count.
- Once, every game's weekly share price is set back to the price from its own earnings, without the old weekly limit on how far it can fall. (coming soon)
The share market
Pack shares and Bought shares can be sold to other players for WINR, from the game's page. Every listing across all games is on the Markets Hub under Shares for sale.
- You set the price per share. There is no price band.
- The seller pays a 2% sale fee: 1% is burned, 0.5% goes to the game's creator and 0.5% to JustBet. On a JustBet Original the creator's 0.5% is burned too. The buyer pays exactly price × shares.
- Shares move to the buyer once the week's pool has been paid. The seller keeps that week's earnings and is paid when the shares move; the buyer earns from the next week.
- Up to 10 listings at a time per player, across all games. Listing is free, you can cancel anytime, and you can't buy your own listing.
- Shares bought on the share market can be listed again 7 days after they move to you, and count for Convert only once you have held them for 14 days.
- When a game freezes for graduation its share market closes: open listings are cancelled, and sales that have not moved yet are refunded in full.
Keep is the default
No share ever converts unless its holder chooses Convert.
- Keep (the default): your shares stay shares, in the 20% weekly pool, unchanged, for as long as you hold them. Kept shares never become units.
- Convert: your Bought shares reserve early units, 1 unit per share, while the game's early units last. Choosing Keep again releases them.
- Pack shares always stay in the 20% pool, unless you upgrade them.
The early units: 3,000 per game, first come
Each game has room for 3,000 early units. Convert and Upgrade both use this room, first come, and one player can reserve at most 1,000 early units per game:
- Convert reserves 1 unit per Bought share while units are left and you are under 1,000. Shares past either limit stay shares.
- Upgrade turns a Pack share into a Bought share and reserves exactly 1 unit, with the same limits.
- The upgrade pop-up shows the units left. It never offers less than 1 unit per share.
- Shares that don't get a unit stay earning shares in the 20% pool.
The upgrade price
An upgrade costs half the auction's floor price per unit, per share, paid in WINR. The floor price comes from the game's own revenue (see The opening auction), so an upgrade always costs exactly half of what an auction buyer pays at the floor. The $100 minimum raise is not part of it. The WINR paid is burned.
Why upgrades have a fee: an upgrade takes a unit that would otherwise be sold in the opening auction, so it costs exactly half of what an auction buyer pays for that unit at the floor price. The WINR paid is burned.
The floor price comes from the game's own revenue, with one rule for every game. Example: a game with $3,000 of priced revenue has a floor price of $0.091 a unit, so an upgrade costs $0.0455 a share. How it is worked out: The opening auction.
Example
A game has 3,000 early units.
- Player A converts 1,000 Bought shares → 1,000 units reserved.
- Player B upgrades 500 Pack shares → 500 units reserved. 1,500 are left.
- Player C holds 850,000 Bought shares and converts. One player can reserve at most 1,000, so C reserves 1,000 units. C's other 849,000 shares stay Bought shares in the 20% pool. 500 are left.
- Player D converts 2,000 Bought shares. Only 500 are left, so D reserves 500 units. D's other 1,500 shares stay Bought shares in the 20% pool.
Units: 10,000 per game
| Part | Units | Who gets them |
|---|---|---|
| Early units | up to 3,000 | Holders who chose Convert or upgraded, 1 per share, at most 1,000 per player |
| Opening auction | 3,000, plus any early units not reserved | Winning bidders, at one price |
| Market pool | 3,000 | The market itself: buyers buy from it, sellers sell to it |
| Creator | 1,000 | The game's creator |
JustBet Originals: there is no creator lot. Those 1,000 units go to the auction, and the creator's share of trading fees is burned.
On game pages, units are labelled shares (for example Price per share).
